FAQ

Questions a buyer actually asks.

You bring the AI. We run the production around it. You make the decision.

What Expertluma is

What is Expertluma?

Expertluma is the operating system for producing reliable AI. You bring an existing AI model or agent. Expertluma runs a bounded production program around it — producing the data and human intelligence it needs, examining what it demonstrates, preserving the evidence, and supporting a named human's decision about whether it is ready for a specific use or not ready.

What problem does Expertluma solve?

Organizations can build or buy AI faster than they can establish whether it is ready for a specific job. Expertluma provides the production process for closing that gap: define the intended use, produce what is needed, examine the system against a controlled protocol, preserve the evidence, and support the authorization decision.

Do you replace our AI?

No. You keep the AI. It stays in your environment. Expertluma runs the production program around it. You do not replace your model or agent with Expertluma.

Are you a model, an agent, or an agent runtime?

No. Expertluma is not an AI model, not an agent, and not an agent runtime. The customer remains responsible for the AI system and its operation. Expertluma runs the production program around it — evidence, evaluation, and the decision record.

What do we actually buy?

The first product is a bounded AI Production Program: Evaluate → Evidence → Decision. Certification packages the evidence and result for that decision.

Training data and human intelligence

Can Expertluma help us train our AI?

Yes. Training is one of the production operations Expertluma can run around your AI. Expertluma can produce annotations, preference data, evaluation cases, red-team cases, expert judgments, and other human intelligence needed to improve the system. Training improves the AI. Evaluation establishes what it demonstrated. You decide whether and how to use that output.

Do you train the model?

AI Training is the data, human feedback, and expert knowledge we produce. Your team trains the model in your environment. Expertluma does not take the weights or run that training.

What does Produce mean?

Produce is the governed work around your AI: training data, human feedback, evaluation sets, red-team cases, and other production evidence. Training improves the AI. Evaluation establishes what it demonstrated. Those are different jobs.

Why keep improvement work separate from the examination?

Improvement work is for making the AI better. Assurance work is for determining what it demonstrated. Those two datasets stay separate. The training team does not see the frozen examination. Otherwise the exam is contaminated.

The first program

What is the first engagement?

You already have AI. Expertluma examines it for the intended production use. The operating sequence is Define → Freeze → Examine → Evidence → Decide. Produce sits inside the program when the AI needs training data or human intelligence — it is not a requirement to start.

What systems can we bring?

An existing AI system, model, or agent you are putting into a defined use — whether it was built internally, licensed, or supplied by a vendor. Expertluma examines the system you register for that intended use, not a claim that the AI is universally good.

Do we have to give Expertluma our model or agent?

No. Your AI remains in your environment. Expertluma evaluates it through the registered evaluation interface; you do not hand us the model or agent to operate as our own product. What data is exchanged during an evaluation is defined by the program and the customer's security and data-handling requirements.

Do we have to produce training data before an examination?

No. A first program can examine the AI you already have. Produce is available when gaps justify governed work around that AI. Evaluation does not automatically mean “make more data.”

Evaluation and evidence

How does evaluation work?

The intended use is defined. The examination is frozen. Expertluma runs controlled cases — including required refusals, escalations, and forbidden actions — and records what the system demonstrated, including where it failed.

What is a frozen examination?

A sealed set of cases that does not move after lock. If a later version is examined, it is examined against the same sealed set. A new exam that moves the goalposts is not proof.

Can a high score still be Not Ready?

Yes. A score is evidence, not authorization. A blocking failure can make the result Not Ready regardless of the aggregate score.

Do you independently observe our live production system?

No. Expertluma runs a controlled examination of the system you register. For agents, the evidence is the trajectory declared under that examination — not independent observation of live production tool calls.

How do you tell whether a later version actually improved?

You remediate outside Expertluma and register a distinct version. Expertluma re-examines it on the same sealed examination. Same system, same version is not improvement.

Decision and authorization

Who authorizes the AI?

A named human in your organization. Expertluma produces the evidence and supports the decision. Expertluma does not authorize the AI.

What does Not Ready mean?

Not Ready is a legitimate production outcome. It means the record does not support authorizing this AI for this use. It is not a failed demo. The findings go to the AI owner. A successful Expertluma engagement does not require an approval. It requires a defensible result.

Do you certify our AI?

Expertluma assembles an authorization evidence package. A named human decides whether the defined use is authorized. Expertluma does not authorize the AI. This is not a government certification.

What do we receive at the end of the program?

The defined package output — Blueprint, released training inputs, evidence package, authorization package, or a bounded enterprise program.

Does authorization last forever?

No. Authorization is bounded by the defined intended use and the evidence supporting it. If the system, the evidence, or the intended use changes materially, the affected scope can be re-examined. Authorization is not a one-time badge.

Do you monitor or intercept our production traffic?

No. Reassessment happens inside the program when something material changes. That is lifecycle — not a continuous monitoring product, and not interception of live tool calls.

Who does the work

Can you provide experts?

Yes, where the package requires them. Workforce composition is determined by the production requirement.

Can our own reviewers and specialists do the work?

Yes. Where the production design permits it, your employees can perform the work under the same production controls.

Are you an annotation marketplace?

No. Annotation is a production activity performed inside a defined production package. It is not a public task marketplace and not a seat of annotators.

Starting and buying

Are the reference programs paying customers?

No. Reference programs are demonstrations of the operating system. They are not traction and not paying-customer validation.

How do we start?

Start an AI Production Program, or talk to Expertluma. A request is reviewed. Submitting a request does not by itself create an account or a workspace.

What does it cost?

The first engagement is a bounded AI Production Program scoped around a defined AI system and intended use. Pricing is based on the examination, production work, evidence requirements, and scope of the engagement. Certification packages the evidence and result for the decision. Talk to Expertluma for a scoped proposal.
